Quote from J@tko :We know it's in Jamaica as the tracks are named after the flag; gold, black and green.

I've been playing LFS since day one and I didn't ever notice that gold, black and green were colours of the Jamaican flag! Learn something new every day...

Nice idea. Even if it's not too busy it'll be nice to have a place to chat about how we're going to take over the world of LFS. Mwhahahaha! Ok maybe not.

Quote from Zachary Zoomy :I'm starting to get worried here in Canada. My school is one of Vancouver's main ones.

Yeah, UBC has had a few scares lately eh? Hopefully nothing comes of them.

Funny stuff! Let me go out there and do the same thing with a Caterham 7 and a Hummer, and prove that the Hummer is the better handling vehicle

Quote from imthebestracerthereis :here is his rolling minivan

That MIGHT have been funny if someone hadn't already posted a similar picture earlier in the thread...

Quote from Luke.S :Should have been a black nissan 200sx aka nissan silvia s13.

That would be cool, but from a marketing perspective I think it makes more sense for the car to be something currently available, so people can go and buy their own "Kitt"

Quote from danowat :Understeer on a bike, i.e. the front tyre losing grip is a VERY bad thing to happen on a bike, it's next to impossible to get it back.

Oversteer is a different matter, and can be either quite fun, or very painfull, depending on the circumstance.

I am pleased to say I haven't had much experience with either on a motorbike yet. I have had the front skip wide over a bump a few times, then catch again, which was ok, but not really lose grip other than that. And I haven't had the back end slide on me at all yet (apart from messing around on loose surfaces at very low speeds) and I'm fairly happy with leaving things like that for the time being Heck, I don't even really enjoy getting the front wheel off the ground yet! I'm ok with getting it up a bit but as soon as it gets higher than a foot I start getting uncomfortable... sorry, got a bit off topic there. But basically understeer and oversteer on a motorbike, not much fun for someone with limited experience like myself

I love gold rims on a black car, works so nicely. I think they're the perfect size too by the way. Not too big, just right sidewall. I hate bigger rims with no sidewall, it just doesn't look purposeful. What size are they? I guess 16in but what about width and profile?

Yeah really, I was a bit surprised they wanted the car to morph like that too But I love the G25 remote control, I want one

You're right, the third shot looks like something out of a magazine

Regarding the small head comment by JJ72, don't worry, (I think) he was only joking. It looks that way because it's a bigger car than it appears, and also because you're on the far side of the car so you are further away than you appear.

That first video was just rediculous. When it's something that you've not really watched before, it makes it almost unbelievable at first. Just crazy...
G25 for remote control of Kitt...

I was just watching this video of Jay Leno chatting to the designer and builder of the new Kitt, and they show him controlling the car remotely via a modified G25 setup.

I'm still playing it offline now and then, but not so much lately to be honest as I'm playing LFS more frequently again.

The front and rear end on a bicycle or motorbike can slide just like in a car. It's just something 99% of (motorcycle) riders want to avoid as the consequences can be a lot worse than in a car!

Old crappy autos suck all the pleasure out of driving, but I actually quite enjoy a good automatic, especially around town where you can rest your left foot for a change. It's nice when you aren't worried about 'being one' with a car and just want to get somewhere.

Quote from Hyperactive :Automatic certainly has some nice sides although with rwd and kickdown it might be too scary on winters.

Once you get used to a car you should be able to avoid kickdown when you want to. Just get used to where it happens and avoid using too much throttle.

You could use the distance tool. Start it in the middle of the roundabout and make sure everything you place is a constant distance from the centre with the distance tool.

There is a correlation between rise in CO2 and global temperatures, but all the studies I know about have shown no causation. So we know that CO2 and global temperatures are both rising, but there has been no proof that one is causing the other.

Nice sounds I like the fz pulling off the line at the end. Makes me want to find some good sounds and go and make something similar myself.

Quote from DaveWS :I'm getting annoying crashes with RBR...

Quote from Vain :That sort of thing sounds like a driver issue.

I get a lot of annoying crashes in RBR, and it's definitely a driver issue. I suck!

Quote from Mazz4200 :personally i've always fancied emigrating, hows Canada this time of year, is it a nice place to live, are there plenty of pretty single women?

It's lovely. I moved over from England (Norwich to be precise) 9 years ago when I was 16, and love it here. Really nice place, lots of nice girls too

Quote from FlintFredstone :Ive been racking my brains to wonder why oversteer in lfs is relativly easy to use (as a style), and then something occured to me the other day, i have never been off the track backwards due to oversteer, only sideways even locking the rears in a hairpin, due to my outstanding superhuman control?, i doubt it

I've been autoxing for a couple of years and done a couple of hundred runs at least in RWD cars, and had plenty of oversteer but I've never spun a car in autox in real life (including a 911 GT3 on slicks in the rain ). As long as you have a feel for correcting oversteer you should be able to avoid spinning. You may lose a lot of time by sliding sideways but hopefully you can avoid spinning.

I voted front-engined rear-wheel-drive. I just love the predictability and how I can get it to do what I want. The mid- and rear-engined cars I've driven have been fun, but there have been more times in those than a nicely balanced FR car when I've not been able to get it to do just what I want.

Quote from atlantian :FF's are predictable, that's why it's safer for the average citizen and that's why most production cars are mostly ff's

Well, also that FF is typically less expensive and the best layout from a packaging point of view.

I use plain as I don't like the way the text looks when the tires are rotating. If they blurred, I'd use something other than plain, but as it is, I prefer no text
